fields harrington is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice probes the social and political dimensions of race and value. Making use of drawing, sculpture, writing, and lens-based performance, his work examines the ways in which the social implications of science, as well as the invention of its instruments and practices of discovery and observation, determine the value of the human. In so doing, his work questions how the affinitive interests of science and law reconstitute the literal meaning of ethics, justice, and truth, and how the systematic practice of regulation organizes structural, abstract domination.

Students from the Clermont Ferrand School of Fine Arts (ESACM) will utilize Triangle as an international site of artistic learning and exchange. The group will be residence at our Dumbo studios for the month of January, culminating in group participation in Triangle Open Studios on February 2nd. ESACM is located in the center of France and runs a unique nomadic program abroad for its MFA candidates. As part of their formal education, these students move between cities, allowing them to experience a larger, global ecosystem of contemporary art and culture. The students attending the program are Elx Breton, Assia Ermolova, Messaoud Soufari, Théo Storf, and Fantine Lacroix.
