Alina Tenser is a Ukrainian born artist currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Working across sculpture, performance, and video, she makes propositions that elicit physical activation and play. Utilizing industrial and domestic materials and processes she reimagines taken-for-granted social and material relations; mining the entanglements of her experience as an immigrant and parent. Tenser is currently an Assistant Professor at Lehigh University.
Paloma Izquierdo (b. 1995, Havana, Cuba) is an artist whose work investigates ‘paranoid infrastructures’-instances where existing systems are manipulated for disobedient uses. By short-circuiting and distorting these structures, Izquierdo’s work mirrors dominant frameworks while camouflaging acts of resistance within them.
Around 1998-9, Alli Melanson chanced upon a book on Diego Velázquez at a local library and saw Las Meninas for the first time. She visited the painting at the Prado in 2007ish, much bigger in real life, and burst into tears upon entering the room where it hangs. She returned to it again in 2024, after walking approximately 800 kilometres over 33 days. Melanson lives in Montréal, QC, Canada, where she makes sculpture, video, installation, images and site specific works.
Hyoju Cheon (b. Seoul, Korea) is an explorer and interdisciplinary artist currently residing in New York. She holds an MFA from Columbia university and a Painting BFA from SungShin University Her multimedia practice–often casting a space, an object, or a body in motion–responds to the conditions of a site. Her work documents bodies as they move through space:drawing their trajectories and archiving the material traces left behind. Hyoju has exhibited her works in Seoul at Dongsomun, Meindo, Gallery Imazoo, and Gaon Gallery; and in New York at the Lenfest Center for the Arts, Half Gallery and Chashma, subtitled nyc among others. She has been an artist in residency at Kunstraum LLC and NARS Foundation, High Desert Test Sites in Joshua Tree.
